Trekking

Baztan is the perfect place to enjoy nature and landscape. A number of circuits and paths have been built and signposted so that visitors can get to know the area. They are classified into two groups:

PR (Short Routes): one or half-day itineraries 8-15 km. long and of medium difficulty. It is advisable to wear walking boots and a rucksack. A total of 5 routes marked with white and yellow colours.
SL (Local Paths): 2 to 3-hour-long walks, 3-8 km. long and with no difficulties. When the weather is good, you can wear trainers. A total of 4 routes marked with white and green colours. Some of them are themed (cultural, nature-related…).

Horse riding

Fantastic excursions to enjoy a day’s riding accompanied by friends and in contact with nature and the environment.

Descente de ravins et canyons

Canyons or ravines are numerous in the karstic (limestone) area of Navarre, where erosion scores deep grooves into the rock, creating impressive shapes. These are areas of great natural beauty where water, stone and light are the main elements.

There are various types of ravines, some with more water and some drier; it all depends on the weather and the varying amounts of water produced by the rivers. Another factor to take into consideration when choosing one or the other is the technical difficulty of the jumps and abseiling required for the descent. For this reason it is advisable to perform this sport under the supervision of guides and specialists who are familiar with the location.

Rafting

If you like a little risk, the Navarrese Pyrenees also offer you the chance for some thrilling zip-lining in Burguete, Lekunberri and Bertiz, or to go rafting, hydrospeeding or kayaking.

Near the hotel there are 6 golf courses, both on the French and on the Spanish side of the border. Each course has its own characteristics and level of difficulty, but all of them share one thing: the beauty of the landscape where they are located, some of them being considered some of Europe’s most beautiful courses.
